Lyme disease is the inflammatory disease that is caused by Borrelia Burgdorfer a bacteria which is present in ticks and their bite is responsible for its dispersion. There are 12 strains of Borrelia that causes Lyme disease. Not only all the ticks carry this bacteria. It is also called The Great Imitator because its symptoms mimic many other diseases. It can affect any part of the body. It is the most common disease in U.S.A. Symptoms can appear after 3-30 days after the bite. It is more epidemic than AIDs.



How You Can Get Lyme:

Mostly, people can get this disease from immature ticks. It is so tiny that its bite is painless. Once it attaches then it can feed for many days. Longer it stays, more likely it spread the infection in the bloodstream.

If a pregnant woman becomes infected with this disease then it transmits to her unborn baby and causes premature birth. But research indicates that this disease does not spread by Breastfeeding.

Symptoms Of Lyme Disease:

Lyme disease occurs in three stages:

Stage 1:

It is the early localized disease that shows symptoms in 1-2 weeks after a tick bite. It shows Bull eye’s Rash that is the indication of dispersion of infection in the stream. The name of this rash is called Erythema migrans. Usually, Rashes occur at the site of bite but you feel no irritation and pain. The area of a tick’s bite is warmer than other areas of the body. This rash is disappeared after 4 weeks.

Many patients do not show this symptom.


Stage 2:

It is the early disseminated disease that occurs after several weeks after the bite. Following are the symptoms:

  • Headache
  • Muscle aches
  • Fatigue
  • Fever
  • Chills
  • Vision Changes
  • Sore throat
  • Enlarge lymph nodes

Stage 3:

Late disseminated lymph disease occurs when Stage 1 or 2 remains untreated. These symptoms occur after months or years:

  • Severe headache
  • Arthritic
  • Numbness in arms, legs, and feet
  • Mental fogginess
  • Short-term memory loss
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Brain disorders
  • Disturbance in heartbeat
